Record-smashing fundraising at the Royal LePage National Sales Conference!
The Royal LePage® Shelter Foundation™ is delighted to announce $466,000 raised at the 2024 Royal LePage® National Sales Conference in Calgary!
Following a new format this year, a full day of the conference – aptly named ‘SHELTERpalooza’ – was dedicated entirely to fundraising events in support of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. From sunup to sunset, delegates had the opportunity to take part in agent-led events that included a pancake breakfast, off-road Jeep experience, music-themed Bingo game, pickleball tournament, nordic spa day, foodie tour, poker tournament, East Coast kitchen party, BBQ lunch, ‘Stampede in September’ party, Olympic karting experience and Calgary city tours. Also debuting during SHELTERpalooza was the inaugural ‘Shelter Classic’ hockey game, with Royal LePagers on Team East and Team West facing off in a fun and friendly nail-biter.
In addition to fundraising event revenue, several Royal LePage agents sold specialty goods and handcrafted items to their fellow conference-goers to raise funds for the cause. Adding further to the impressive total raised was the annual ‘Ride for Shelter’ motorcycle event that kicked off the 3 day conference as well as a donation campaign spearheaded by Royal LePage professionals who are 35 years of age or younger.
Always a jewel on the conference agenda, the Shelter Lunch and Auction shone brightly, led by incomparable auctioneer Kent Browne, broker/owner with Royal LePage Team Realty in Ottawa. In just under two hours, more than $238,000 was raised, including $53,500 in bids and matching donations for the Foundation’s famous Faux Fur Coat. Since 2009, this beloved symbol of the Royal LePage brand has been auctioned 15 times and raised more than $230,000 – all in support of programs that prevent intimate partner violence and help women and children heal after experiencing abuse.
Last but certainly not least, more than 50 agents answered the call to become Royal LePage Shelter Foundation Commission Donors during the conference, which means that women and children in their communities will benefit each and every time they help a client buy or sell a home.
“It’s difficult to articulate in words the depth of gratitude we feel for every single Royal LePager who helped make this conference such an epic fundraising success,” said Lisa Gibbs, executive director, Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. “The generosity of our family of supporters is truly unmatched and we couldn’t be more proud or grateful for each and every delegate who has shown that they want to play a part in ending intimate partner violence in Canada.”
