Where Do You See Yourself Living Next?

There's no denying the pandemic has changed our day-to-day lives and influenced not only how we live, but where we live — or where we would like to live. Whether working from home has you dreaming of life outside the city, or you’re simply ready for a change of scenery, there are several considerations to keep in mind when planning your next move.

Wide open spaces.

Space is not limited to square footage. A growing number of Canadians are fleeing urban areas, opting instead for homes in suburban/rural neighbourhoods that offer plenty of outdoor space to explore. Maybe you’re not ready to stray too far from the city… consider looking in small towns or hamlets just beyond the boundaries of major metropolitan centres.

A permanent vacation.

The cottage was once reserved for weekend getaways, but throughout the pandemic, cottages have become permanent residences. Cottage regions in Ontario and Atlantic Canada are forecast to see the highest price appreciation in the country this year. Before you make cottage life permanent, be sure to consider the cost and lifestyle changes involved in staying year-round.

Cross country dreams.

With much of life on hold, some are dreaming of making big changes, including moving to a new province. Before falling in love with a home sight-unseen, be sure to research the cost of living, future job opportunities, and the cost associated with visiting family and friends in the future.

Has the pandemic inspired you to think about where you want to live next? I’m here to help you plan your next move. Ask me how!
